Good Food and Wine Show

For the foodies and wine connoisseurs, here is a show you do not want to miss. For one sensational weekend, all the wine producers, chefs and food producers come together. One day may not suffice given the long line of foods and drinks to try out. Prepare your taste buds to be amazed by the skills and variety of foods you will be experiencing. There will be 15 celebrity chefs, three hundred foods, and wine producers. Chefs like Maggie Beer, Tobie Puttock, Michelle Bridges, and Donna Hay will be bringing you show specials and more fun than you can handle in one lifetime. The event is set for the 5th of June to 8th of June 2015 at the Melbourne Convention Exhibition Centre. All ages can attend. Parking is provided with assistance for the physically challenged.

The Waiting Room

You rarely hear authentic Australian stories on any stage, more so, the personal ones. Kylie Trounson has put together a personal story about the joys of conceiving a baby and the extraordinary pain when you cannot. Visit the Melbourne Arts Centre and listen to the story of her life. The play has been well received all over Australia and beyond. It is set for 15th May to 27th June 2015.

Melbourne International Singers Festival

This year America’s Jazz singer Kirby Shaw and internationally recognized composer arranger will grace the Melbourne International Singers Festival. The most exciting festival for choirs and individual singers will be held at the Federation Square between the 5th of June and 8th of June at 9.00 am. Also present will be the multi-award winning, The Australian Voices and Gordon Hamilton working with the best composers at various venues in Melbourne. There will be workshops such as the Best of British Prom Concert.

The Australian Woodturning Exhibition

This leading woodturning event aims at bringing together a collection of woodturnings and, wood turners. There will several outstanding woodturnings on display like bowls, identical parts, vessels, function items, and wood art. The pieces on display will come from all levels of artists, novices, students, intermediates and most skilled turners. The event will be held between 5th June and 7th June 2015 at the Whithorse Centre, Waratah Rooms from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

2015 Ice Hockey Classic: USA vs. Canada

For the fanatic Hockey fans, here is a game for you. This year, Australia will be hosting the best of North America’s hockey world as America and Canada battle it out in the 2015 Ice Hockey Classic. Also attending will be representatives from the National Hockey League. There will be other intense matches in various venues in Melbourne all through June. The match is set for 5th June 2015 at the Rod Laver arena.

Winter Wine Weekend 2015

This wine fest is held during the long weekend of the Queen’s birthday in June every year. The traditional wine tasting marks the beginning of the event and is followed by a long weekend of undercover wine tasting where you sample over 200 wines from various wineries. The event will be held between 6th June and 8th June 2015 at the Red Hill Show grounds.

Mornington Peninsula Wedding Expo 2015

For the wedding planners, brides and grooms to be or wedding enthusiasts, here is an event you have to attend. The Mornington Peninsula is a perfect destination for any wedding. During this event, great wedding supplies will be under one roof. This is a perfect opportunity to sample different wedding attire and get ideas for your wedding or your next wedding planning job. The event is set for the 14th of June 2015 at the Peninsula Community Theatre from 10:00 am.

Paris Combo

The Cosmopolitan group Paris Combo is returning to Australia after more than ten years. They will be performing their contemporary swinging gipsy jazz, the Latino, Middle Eastern rhythms, and their other repertoire. Critics have praise the group as one of the best France has produced in three decades. The group was formed in the 1990s and id now doing a world tour of their new album called 5 which they released in Australia early this year. Paris Combo will be performing in different venues in Melbourne from June 7th to June 11th. The event is not suitable for kids.

Swan Lake with the St. Petersburg Ballet

The internationally renowned St. Petersburg Ballet will be performing their classic production of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake. Swan Lake was first performed in St. Petersburg in 1895.  The event will be hosted at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre in a state-of-the art space in the building, this is the first time this space is hosting a ballet performance. The event will be held between 20th June and 22nd June 2015 and is suitable for all ages.

The Light In Winter

Art luminary Robin Archer will be directing the Light In Winter program at Federation Square from 1st to 30th June. Come enjoy music, art, and performances from local and international artists at the free event. The event will be held every night throughout the month and will include the solstice celebrations. All ages can attend.
